Review
Mp3/Tag Studio is a comprehensive software application to assist you in managing and organizing your entire MP3 collection in a quick and easy way. Through its intuitive interface, you can choose a working directory where you will apply the needed changes to all the files contained in it and in its subdirectories, especially regarding file names and the ID3 tag information, for both versions 1 and 2.
Almost all the program's functionality takes place on a single window. However, it provides a large number of features and controls that allow you to carry out any of the tasks available thanks to a central tabbed panel that groups all these features. Among the most important functionality that Mp3/Tag Studio provides you will find the file auto-renaming feature (that takes the information from the ID3 tags), the possibility of tagging and auto-renaming from a customized list (contained in a text file that you can create by using another important tool also provided by Mp3/Tag Studio), browsing and editing capabilities for individual tags and flags (for each file in the directory), direct tag manipulation, direct file renaming, mass tags cleaning up, and mass tags and flags setting. Moreover, a different set of tools allow you to perform another kind of jobs, like MP3 trimming, repairing, and searching.
Most options allow you to decide if you want to consider those MP3 files contained in subfolders or not, and whether you would like to work on preview mode. Furthermore, you are allowed to show or hide additional lateral panels at any time which contain a disk explorer (to help you locate your MP3 directory) and also a custom file selector, allowing you to pick up only certain files for editing, on an individual basis.
Despite being a shareware version, the program is fully functional and appears not to have time restrictions. The only annoying thing is a banner that opens up outside the program's main window, which you are asked to click on every time you use it, in case you do not register within 30 days. |
